FAQ

Straight answers.

The questions every client asks in the first call, answered the way we answer them in the first call.

Do you need my passwords?
No. Never. Not by email, DM, phone, or in person. Everything we do happens with you at the keyboard or through access you grant and can revoke, such as a manager role or a shared vault. Anyone who asks for your password or a verification code is the attack.
Can you get my hacked account back?
Sometimes, and we won't promise it. Platforms decide what gets restored. What we can promise is that the recovery is run correctly, in the right order, with the right evidence, so your limited appeals aren't wasted. Most of our incident clients do get back in. Some don't, and we tell you early if that's where it's heading.
Do you have contacts inside Meta, TikTok or Google?
No, and neither does anyone else at our size. Firms that say otherwise are either lying or using methods that get accounts permanently banned. We use the platforms' own channels, and we know how to use them well.
How long does a Lockdown take?
Usually two to four weeks, depending on how many accounts, devices and people are involved. Most of the urgent work happens in the first few days. The rest is methodical, and all of it is documented.
Is this confidential?
Completely. We don't publish client names, case studies, or tagged posts. Intake can happen on Signal, without video, and without your legal name until you're comfortable. Our contract includes confidentiality both ways.
What does it cost?
Lockdown is a fixed fee quoted after a 30-minute intake, because the scope depends on your life. Standing Watch is a monthly or annual retainer. Incident work is billed by the hour or day, agreed before we start. See the pricing page for the shape of each.
What do I get with a free account?
The tools we open every engagement with: a password leak check, an email breach lookup, a brand-deal checker, four printable field guides, and do-it-yourself opt-out links. It's free, it isn't a service, and nobody will call you. Create one here.
Do I need to install an app?
No. We don't ship one. We work with the tools you already use, add what's missing where it matters, and keep the monitoring on our side. Your protection shouldn't depend on another vendor holding your data.
I'm a manager. Can you cover my whole roster?
Yes. We run a roster-wide exposure review, harden each client in priority order, and report to the agency on one contract with per-creator pricing. See the agencies page.
Do you cover my family and team?
Yes, and we encourage it. Spouses, children, assistants and editors are the easier target. They're scoped into Lockdown and Standing Watch rather than sold as add-ons.
Do you work with my company's security team?
Happily. For executives, we complement corporate security rather than duplicate it. We cover the personal side, share what they need to know, and stay out of what they already handle.
What happens in an emergency?
Standing Watch clients have a direct line to a person who already knows their setup, with response times in writing. New incident clients can reach us through the incident page. We take new incidents when we have capacity and tell you honestly on the first call whether we can help.
Are you insured?
Yes. We're an incorporated company with errors and omissions coverage. Boring on purpose.
Do you remove my information from people-search sites, or just tell me how?
We do it. Opt-outs filed, tracked to completion, and re-checked monthly because listings come back. You get a written exposure report at the start and after each cycle.
I'm not famous. Is this for me?
If more than one person touches your accounts, your income depends on a platform, or you've had a scare, yes. The scorecard on the exposure page is a good two-minute test.
